1938 Indian Sport Scout Racer
In 1934, the Indian factory came out with the very first 45ci "Sport Scout" model in response to the negative reaction to the Standard Scout, which debuted in 1932.
The Sport Scout was a very desirable alternative, sporting a light frame, girder forks, improved carburation and alloy cylinder heads. A specially-tuned Sport Scout won the first Daytona 200 ridden by Ed "Iron Man" Kretz.
This very nice barn find dirt tracker sports alloy rims, Indian Jr. Scout gas tanks, three speed hand shift, a Linkert M55 carburetor, Bates style solo seat and more. This classic racer would be an excellent addition to any motorcycle collection or re-commissioned for vintage racing, such as the Race of the Gentlemen or any AHRMA event.
